The “car sharing mobility” starts in Valle Po and Alta Val Tanaro

An “intelligent and sustainable” transport solution for those who live in places difficult to reach by mobility services: this is the commitment of the Piemonte Region with the Interreg-Alcotra “E-Trasporti” cross-border project, created in collaboration with UNCEM and with our managing and technical support.
The solution called “Car sharing mobility”, designed “tailor-made” for the municipalities of Paesana, Sanfront and Ostana in the Po Valley, Ormea, Briga Alta, Caprauna and Alto in the Tanaro Valley, is a combination of flexible and interoperable services: a different a way to use different mobility solutions, which prefer the sharing of the vehicle rather than its possession.
Multiple solutions that make up the “Car sharing mobility”, all gathered in a single parking lot for each municipality, thanks to which it will be possible to share the cars of the “CinQue” car sharing service (or in the future even private vehicles available to share), or share the journey with the car pooling solution that can also be carried out with the same vehicles as the car sharing, using the car park as a meeting point. A perfect synthesis of elements of the same importance such as service, infrastructure and technology which, integrated with each other, will guarantee citizens methods of use that are very similar to “on demand” services.

In the six-month experimental phase, which will end at the beginning of 2023, the workstations will be recognizable thanks to a specific logo, useful not only for identifying the services but also for conveying through the brand the values underlying the project which, through active involvement of the population and institutions and with the support of commercial and hospitality activities, from experimental it can be transformed continuously to the benefit of the final user, be it a citizen or a tourist, with positive repercussions for the whole territory.

5T deals with smart mobility and designs accessible and digital solutions also for territories with specific mobility needs. – underlines Rossella Panero, our General Manager – With this service, we want to propose a new model of intelligent mobility, concretely evaluating its sustainability, both environmental and economic, in seven municipalities of the Cuneo area with the aim of then being able to expand the offer also on other Piedmontese territories“.

To promote the service, a series of initiatives have already been planned, which will be activated with the aim of spreading the potential of “Car sharing mobility”, as well as encouraging the registration of citizens and companies in the area.
