SUMP Project

The objective of the SUMP - Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning project, financed by the European Union's EuropeAid  program, is to improve urban mobility in Yangon, the capital of Myanmar, through the sharing and transfer of European experience on policies relating to the management of mobility and road safety: in recent years, the Burmese capital has been experiencing a process of constant, rapid development with the consequent problems of traffic and mobility.

The project's activities will focus on the transferring of experiences, best practices, and expertise in mobility planning, in the application of Intelligent Transport Systems, and actions to promote citizen participation on such a complex issue by involving the interested parties in a constructive dialogue. The two-year project has been made possible by a partnership made up of the City of Turin, 5T, the association Ithaca, the NGO CESVI, and the YCDC - Yangon City Development Committee, representing the Burmese capital.
